Mon Refugee Organization Holds Election in 2014

M.R.O 2014 election was held on 20th of April at Mon Buddhist temple in Kuala Lumpur. M.R.O election is usually held once in two years. The election was full of seventy people and above including Buddhist monks and civil society representatives. Announcer Nai Gong Skar, five chairmen and commission members took proper places of their different positions before the election have stared. Then Ven.Thavara, Chairman Of MMA; Nai Akah Poin and Chairman Of MRO; Nai Sai Wonna gave a speech thereafter Nai Nyana reported activities and works of MRO within two years. Then the questions taken from attendees were answered by respective executive committee members and Nai Eim Chai declared laws and regulations regarding to that election. Then the election began after 3 o'clock and was finished at 6:45 in the evening with outcome as the following.

The Election of Mon Refugee Organization is Going to be Held

As we would like to have some suggestion from our Mon people in this country, they are called for a meeting held at MRO office in Kuala Lumpur on 23nd of March 2014. The meeting was attended around forty people including different village association leaders. In this meeting, chairman of MRO, Nai Saiwonna expressed the law and system of MRO election regarding to his experience in the past several years. Then secretary of MRO, Nai Jamon Rott reported about MRO works and what we have done so far. After that, making discussion focus on the staffs of MRO whether just fill them up in necessary of recent committee or do an election for a new committee. As the vote shown, most people preferred for holding an election and we build a commission as soon as the decision has made. The commissioners are; Rev.Kovida, Nai Ramonnya Eim Chai, Nai Maroh Cot, Nai Gong Skar and Nai Kon Tala Mon. After each other 15 minutes discussion of commission, MRO election is going to be held on 20th of April 2014 at 1 o'clock in the evening at Buddhist temple in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur announced by a commissioner.

Trainees Sit for the Exam at Hartford Academy

There are eight of Mon refugee computer trainees went for the exam at Hartford Academy on 20th of March 2014. "In our MRCEC shool, we are not only teaching the language but also teaching the computer courses after school time and the trainees usually sit for the exam once in three months. But due to some snags at Hartford Academy, this exam prolongs up to five months this time." said computer trainer. In this exam, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator and HTML courses were sat by the trainees respectively and fortunately all of them have passed the exam.

Mon Women's Day and M.W.R.O Election 2014

Mon Women's Day usually hold in Chinese Assembly Hall and this year makes a move to held in Mon Buddhist temple located in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. As is recognized of Mon queen Mi Jar Bu birth day, Mon women's day in this year falls on 12nd of March 2014 according to Mon lunar calendar. In this ceremony, the chairmen are Ven.Thavara, Rev.Kovida, Nai Saiwonna, Nai Okka, Nai Ramonya Eim Chai and Mi Myint Myint Ngwe while Mi Seik Nyan is Announcer. There are about forty people came to support the celebration and all after the speech is given a few culture dancing was presented. After celebration of Mon women's day, the election of Mon Refugee Women Organization was elected as the following result;

3. Mi Nondae (Secretary)

Nai Yekha Meets with Community Leaders in Malaysia

The deputy head of the Organizational Department for the New Mon State Party, Nai Yekha has met with Burmese ethnic community leaders in Malaysia. The meeting was held on 19th of February 2014 at MRO office which is located in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. This short meeting was participated ten leaders and Nai Yakkha explained how he got arrested then the situation of living in jail. He also clarified of the recent political flows in Burma and how the government is ruling the country with full of guile. Meanwhile all the leaders each others were exchanging their view points of 2015 election and the meeting ended up at 12 o'clock which was started at 10 o'clock in the morning.

Honouring Ceremony of MRCEC Students Passed the Exam

On 13rd of February 2014, MRCEC school held Honouring Ceremony for the students who had passed the exam. This ceremony normally hold in the school and invite all of the parents of the students. In this year, it's strangely to say that two Mon political leaders Nai Yakkha and Rev. Okkansa are participated in this ceremony as they came to Malaysia for Mon National Day celebration. In this ceremony, Mi Seik Nyan was responsible for announcer and Nai Yakkha, Rev. Okkansa, Nai Saiwonna, and Nai Maroh Cot took place for chairmen. This ceremony only gave certificate and prize to those who had passed ordinary. For the students who had passed in distinction will give certificate and prize on the stage of Mon National Day celebration.

MRCEC Held Examination For Mon Subject

MRCEC school have done examination for Mon subject on 10th February 2014. Mon subject is divided into four levels as in Kindergarten, Standard-1, Standard-2 and Historic Studies. In this year, fifty students and above sat the exam in their level respectively. The exam for Mon subject normally takes only for one day and it's usually held before Mon National Day celebration.
